Warrantees

A/C Advantage Inc. warranties on new installations and system replacement are 1-year parts and labor from the time of system start up. This includes all materials supplied and installed by A/C Advantage Inc. Some items may be excluded, for example, failure to change filters, homeowner misuse of the thermostat, breakers, power failures, and natural disasters i.e. lightning, and hurricanes.

Service repair parts such as compressor replacement, blower motors, and condenser fan motors may have a warranty. These warranties are designated by the part manufacturer, not A/C Advantage Inc. These part replacement warranties do not include diagnostic, labor, or refrigerant. These items would be additionally charged.

Manufacturer’s warranties do range from brand to brand, most have a 5-year parts and compressor with an option to register your equipment, as a courtesy A/C Advantage Inc. will register the homeowner’s equipment when the manufacturer allows us to do so. With registration, most manufacturers’ warranty increases to 10-year parts and compressors. Some manufacturers offer variations or additional warranties as special promotions. Ask your A/C Advantage comfort specialist what current offers there may be. Some special promotions may include a 5-year labor extended warranty.

Manufacturer’s warranties never include diagnostic, repair labor, or refrigerant. These would all be billed to the homeowner after the repair is made, some specialized equipment may require a deposit.

Extended Warrantees

Most manufacturers include a 10-year parts warranty once the equipment is registered, however, none include refrigerant or a failed piping joint. Depending on the type of refrigerant, the amount needed, and the size of the equipment, this can cost several thousands of dollars to repair. Some extended warranty companies will cover this specific occurrence.

Since the manufacturer’s warranty covers the parts and not the diagnostic, repair labor, and refrigerant; extended warranties are also purchased and will include diagnostic labor, repair labor, piping repairs, and some include refrigerant. These extended warranties are offered for 5 years, and 10 years. They can be purchased for residential and commercial equipment on split systems, packaged units, mini splits, and accessories such as thermostats, dehumidifiers, electronic air cleaners, and others.

Some extended warranties have deductibles to limit your repair costs.

Most extended warranties require the homeowner to have a twice-per-year maintenance contract in place. Ours can be found here.
While extended warranties can be purchased at the time of sale, some may allow the warranty contract to be purchased 1 to 3 years after the sale and installation, as long as the proper maintenance has been completed and the homeowner retains records of the maintenance performed, ask for more details.
